Virtual Communities of Practice

Virginia Ed Strategies strives to empower others to collaborate, learn from one another’s successes and failures, and ultimately solve their own problems of practice. We believe in replicating rather than reinventing the wheel, and facilitating communities of practice is our way of spreading innovation wide and far. Through regularly scheduled webinars, Twitter chats, online resource sharing, and other such virtual means of communication, we are able to bring together partners with shared goals and challenges to form one or more virtual communities of practice – each such network is able to work together and have central access to timely information and supports as needed without costly travel and time away from the work itself. The Rural Math Innovation Network and XchangeNet are two working examples of our virtual communities of practice.

Keynotes

Virginia Ed Strategies provides keynote speeches and conference presentations to a variety of audiences and on a wide range of topics. Each presentation is tailored to the event objectives and is planned to engage attendees with extensive participant interaction and practical takeaways.

Family Engagement

We believe that our mission of improving academic and career outcomes for students can only be achieved through collaboration with all community stakeholders, and that especially includes families. Virginia Ed Strategies partners with schools and other local groups to conduct a variety of activities and outreach campaigns to increase family and student awareness of high-demand careers and the training programs available to pursue them during and after high school. We plan and carry out evening sessions with community speakers to convey critical information about careers and resources for career planning and exploration, and we also create and manage digital resources and virtual events for students and parents who may not be able to attend sessions away from home.

Meeting and Visioning Facilitation

Virginia Ed Strategies utilizes a variety of techniques to get people thinking creatively, gather opinions from stakeholders, assist in project planning, and perform other customized facilitation services to meet your needs. With a focus on third-party neutrality, we use a variety of techniques to encourage participants to share their points of view and provide genuine feedback so the results are useful as you move forward.

We use a three-step process:

  1. Preparation and design,
  2. Meeting facilitation, and
  3. Reporting and evaluation to customize the overall experience and final report for your unique needs as well as the people involved.

By providing true end-to-end facilitation, we ensure the proper foundation is set for success so you get the results you’re looking for.
