An article written by Virginia Ed Strategies staff and published in the December 2016 issue of The Rural Educator journal explains how the RMEP i3 project used the DACUM process to identify math learning gaps of students. Four types of gaps were identified. The Rural Educator is the official peer-reviewed journal of the National Rural Education Association (NREA). RMEP Advisory Leadership Team

The RMEP Advisory LeadershipTeam was formed to advise RMEP staff on solving issues and to facilitate project implementation. The RMEP Advisory Leadership Team hold a dinner meeting to discuss roles of the membership and the overall project.
RMEP Math Development Team

The RMEP Math Development Team pictured left to right: Todd Meinhard of Cumberland, Adam Reeves from Halifax, Elizabeth Toombs from Charlotte, Shena King from Prince Edward, Brittany Price from Martinsville and Jenny Whitaker from Henry. All are teachers of math classes at their respective high/middle schools.

The Rural Math Excel Partnership calls for teachers, parents, and community organizations to fulfill unique roles and responsibilities that support student success in mathematics.
